Madhusudan

Born into a family of musicians, Madhu was tutored initially by his father Vidwan N.Srinivas Prasad. He later learnt tabla under the able guidance of Guru.Pandit.R.V.Sheshadri Gavai and is presently recieveing advanced training under the guidance of Pandit Ravindra Yavagal, a stalwart in the field of hindustani music. Though a diploma holder in mechanical engineering, Madhu's passion for music drew him towards this field.
Madhu plays the Tabla and Dholak. He has been active in the field of music since 1984. Apart from playing authentic Hindustani Classical Music, he has performed for many fusion concerts with renowned Western Musicians. He has been working with leading film music directors like Hamsalekha, Vijay Bhaskar, Late T.G.Lingappa, V.Manohar at session recordings. He has carved a niche for himself as an accomplished accompanist for Sugam Sangeeth.

He has performed for All India Radio and Doordarshan.He has accompanied noted Hindustani Classical musicians like Ubhaya Gana Vidhushi Shyama G Bhave, Vinayaka Torvi, Anuradha Sriram, Shivanand Patil, Pandit M.Venkateshkumar.

He has rendered percussions support to eminent Carnatic Classical musicians like Vainika Shiromani R.K.Suryanarayan, Kalaimamani Kadri Gopalnath, Dr.Suma Sudheendra, Vidya Bhushana, M.S.Sheela, Nagamani Srinath, Sriram Parashuram and Layakala Pratibhamani Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma.

He is a part of 'Rhythms of India', a rhythm ensemble led by leading percussionist B.S.Venugopal Raju.He has rendered percussion support to eminent Sugam Sangeeth artists like Mysore Ananthaswamy, C.Ashwath, Chandrika Gururaj, Raju Ananthswamy, Shimoga Subbanna, late G.V.Atri and others.He has rendered percussion support to eminent dancers like Mayarao, Nirupama & Rajendra and others.

He is presently working with Padmashri.S.P.Balasubramanyam and has rendered percussion support to innumerable recordings.

He has toured USA and Canada with Puttur Narasimha Nayak and Manjula Gururaj in the year 1998.
